Solve: {1 – [1 – 1 x (1 + 1) – 1] of 1} ÷ 1 + 1 SOLUTION Rule1: Don’t be scared Rule2: Follow the principles of operation (precedence rule). Note : do not be confused by the different terms: simplicity, evaluate or solve. For now we can assume them to all mean the same thing. Simply see them as saying “ manipulate ” the digits using the right principles until the simplest form is reached!
