Mathematics – Tough or Easy? Most people believe, mathematics is a tough subject and really frightened just at the mention of the name – mathematics. The major reason why most people are afraid of mathematics is not actually due to mathematics is tough (because most of us have not really tried it) but people are scared because of the way the course is/was introduced to them. We often have the wrong definition of/for mathematics! What is Mathematics? Simply put, mathematics is the act and process of manipulation of symbols, alphabets and figures (numbers) through the application of predefined rules. Following the simple definition given above one can comfortably argue that everything we do in life is a mathematical process.
